Nucamp Review and Guide

Nucamp is a coding bootcamp with over 180 workshop locations in the United States alone. The bootcamp offers part-time and full-time programs to students who want to learn web and mobile development. It is for beginners and intermediate learners who want to become professional developers.

The tech school offers a hybrid study approach. Lectures and tutorials are conducted online on weekday evenings. You will then have meetups with classmates on the weekends, but these are being held virtually right now due to COVID-19. In-person study is available but only when numbers are sufficient for Nucamp to justify it.

This Nucamp review will highlight the key details, tuition fees, and what to expect overall from the bootcamp.

Nucamp offers three core programs, all of which are programming-related. This bootcamp is a great way to launch a career in tech, especially if you can’t fit an online computer science degree into your schedule. It is also known for offering flexible payment options to students.

To get you started, Nucamp has a Web Development Fundamentals course. This is a four-week program that will help you decide if software development is the right fit for you.

During your time at Nucamp, you will have access to a global network of alumni, enjoy personalized career coaching, and maintain a direct line to an advisor who will guide you through the process.

Nucamp Programs

Nucamp has concrete web development curricula. The ultimate goal is to make you a well-rounded developer for web and mobile. The three programs are Web Development Fundamentals, Front End Web + Mobile Development, and Full Stack Web + Mobile Development.

Full Stack Web + Mobile Development

This is a 22-week program for full stack web and mobile development training. You will learn the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Then you will go deeper, learning how to use Bootstrap, Node.js, React, React Native, Git, and GitHub.

You will also learn about Visual Studio Code, web application architecture, and backend applications of Node during the program.

Tuition: $1,880 – $2,292

Front End Web + Mobile Development

This program is the one to go for if you prefer to work on design and interactivity rather than backend functionality. It runs for 17 weeks and requires extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Complete newbies can acquire this through the fundamentals course, for which see below.

It covers all the same modules as the Full Stack Web + Mobile Development Program except the backend technologies.

Web Development Fundamentals

This accelerated prep program runs for four weeks. It will set you up for the other two programs. It covers the three core programming languages of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

In addition, you will learn how to use Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code for development.

Location: Online

Nucamp Application Process

Nucamp is one of the few coding bootcamps that doesn’t require a lengthy admission process. All you have to do is visit the website, choose the program you want, and apply.

There is a simple registration form that requires your contact information and a few details about your background. You don’t need to take a test or interview. However, there are only a few spots available per cohort.

Nucamp Tuition and Financing Options

As stated above, Nucamp is one of the most affordable bootcamps in the industry. For just $349, you can start learning how to become a programmer. If you combine the prep course with the front end or full stack program, you will pay less than $3,000 in total.

You can pay in monthly installments, and the amount can be as low as $8 per month under the Fair Student Agreement (FSA). Nucamp also offers a discount of 25 percent and a laptop to students who qualify for the ReSkill America Scholarship.
